Amanda Leesburg

A 20-year veteran of the public relations industry, Amanda Leesburg has deep experience in multiple verticals including consumer products, entertainment, environmental, fashion, home décor, retail and corporate. Founded in 2002, Leesburg PR is a strategic public relations company, specializing in consumer, environmental, entertainment and lifestyle communications services.  Capabilities and expertise include media relations and publicity, red and “green” carpet events, media training, branding and new product launches.

 

As an independent publicist, Amanda has partnered with television networks including Turner South, Discovery Home, Discovery Health, Animal Planet and Discovery Digital Networks and has worked one-on-one with celebrity clients.

 

She has secured three front page stories in the New York Times as well as front page coverage in other major market publications including the L.A. Times, Washington Post, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Chicago Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle, Miami Herald, Seattle Times and Houston Chronicle. With a growing interest and dedication to saving our planet, Leesburg PR launched a national green/sustainable PR practice in 2007 to assist growing and established consumer brands with their environmental messaging and media relations outreach. Giving back to the community is also top of mind with a dedicated non-profit client roster.

 

Prior to launching Leesburg PR, Amanda worked for nationally recognized public relations agencies and organizations in Washington, D.C. and Atlanta including Ketchum, Edelman, PBS Television and the public affairs firm of Dowling Langley & Associates. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Amanda earned her B.A. in Speech Communication from The University of Southern Mississippi (USM).

Becky Peterson

Becky Peterson specializes in media relations, writing and strategy and has worked in Houston, Atlanta and, currently, Indianapolis.  With a strong consumer background, Peterson’s agency positions include Hill & Knowlton and Burson-Marsteller where she worked with such clients as United Airlines, Texaco, Haagen Dazs, Coca-Cola and Gillette. She has also worked extensively with The Greenbrier, McDonald’s and American Resin Corp. She was public relations manager for Foley’s Department Stores where she acted as corporate media contact and spokesperson for that Houston-based retailer.

 

A veteran of the Atlanta PR community from 2002 to 2015, the myriad of clients for whom she’s produced results include the Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities, Macy’s, Newell Rubbermaid, PI Worldwide, Interim HealthCare, Discovery HD Theater, Tour de Georgia, ING Georgia Marathon, Eternal Reefs, Hope Unlimited Bags, Central Logic, Fish Consulting, TrueWealth, EcoSense for Living and NeuroTrials Research.

 

Throughout her career, Becky has made it a priority to give back to the community. She was the 2013 and 2014 Membership Co-Chair, the 2010 Professional Development Committee Co-Chair, and won a Chapter Champion Award in 2009 for PRSA Georgia, the second largest chapter in the nation. She has held board positions with the YMCA, United Way and Bike Alpharetta. She races sprint distance triathlons and is a classically trained vocalist, having performed with the Michael O’Neal Singers in Atlanta and, currently, with the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir.
